Maizex Founders to be Inducted into Kent County Agricultural Hall of Fame
The Kent County Agricultural Hall of Fame has announced Dave and Brenda Baute, founders of Maizex Seeds Inc. as one of its inductees for 2017. There are 5 individuals or farm families to be inducted as part of the 2017 Class. The induction ceremony will take place at Countryview Golf Course near Chatham on Tuesday, November 14th.
Dave and Brenda were recognized not only for their achievement in founding and growing Maizex Seeds – now the largest independent seed corn company in Canada, but importantly, for their contribution back to the local community. This includes their time and energy in support of strategic long-term planning and capital fundraising leadership for the Ridgetown Campus of the University of Guelph.
Congratulations to Dave and Brenda on this achievement and thank you for your support of agriculture and your local community.
